This Special Series Aircraft Carrier Taiho Wood Deck kit comes with etching parts
The model is based on the appearance from commissioning to the Battle of the Mariana Islands
The flight deck is represented with a sculpted wood deck motif using specially included parts
Newly designed parts introduced in 2021 are included to unify differences in equipment reproduction due to release period and some parts are split for painting
The type 21 radar is finely sculpted including insulator bases for the front elements
The 12 meter launch boat is split into canvas and helm engine covers for painting
The 12 meter launch craft can also be represented without the canvas
The bow chrysanthemum emblem is newly provided
Previously omitted navigation lights are included as a pair of separate parts
Decals now include the ship name on the stern painted in warship color
Type 96 25mm triple machine guns are supplied in two part structure to reduce painting effort
Four aircraft types are included based on history Zero Fighter Model 52 Zero Fighter Model 21 Suisei and Tenzan
Anti air control tower includes binocular parts
The hull has integrated port and starboard sides so no gluing or seam filling is needed
The closed anchor chain deck is included with viewable interior
Portholes on the sides are engraved and canopies are represented in relief
The flight deck is sculpted wood and molded as one part from bow to stern
Fore and aft elevators and wind shields are separate parts and can be assembled in raised or lowered positions
Truss structure underneath flight deck is sculpted in relief
Spotlights on the flight deck are stowed and cranes are upright
The bridge base is molded as one part using slide molds with five sided sculpting
The funnel integrated with the bridge is split into left and right parts with separate steam pipes and supports
Funnel cap is hollow for realism
Bridge anti air control tower includes binocular parts
Side anti air and machine gun positions are separate parts with detailed strip floor engraving
The 10 centimeter twin high angle gun is supplied as dedicated Taiho parts
Various side fittings such as antenna supports landing signal lights ladders are separate parts
Type 96 25mm triple guns are finely detailed in two part structure standard since 2018
Included aircraft represent the four types present during the June 1944 Battle of the Mariana Islands totaling sixteen aircraft

The kit includes injection parts for main hull deck aircraft and guns molded in gray
Etching parts reproduce details difficult to achieve with injection molding including railings ladders funnel mast radar direction finding antennas boat davits cranes and more
The kit requires assembly and painting and is supplied unpainted
Scale is 1/700 and this is a waterline model without hull bottom
The kit combines existing Special Series molds and newly designed 2021 additional parts
Three decal sheets included
One for aircraft markings one for stern name and support stripes and one Taiho specific sheet for flight deck markings and naval flags
